Buddleia | Bringing In The Butterflies

buddleia 1

I got a present yesterday. My favourite type of present.

It was an offshoot of a neighbour’s beautiful Buddleia… all leafy and frondy, with sturdy-looking roots.

This thoughtful gift has come at exactly the right time as I’m planting a buddleia hedge at the moment.

Hopefully, by this time next year, there will be armfuls of flowers. Reds, deep purples and green-whites.  With the added bonus of course of clouds of butterflies.

Buddleia is like the Pied Piper for butterflies….

…and I would like to see hundreds flip flopping about my new hedge, next summer.

Oh yes indeedy!

      1. You’ve got it as well then? We did need some rain but maybe not all on one day. At least I’ll be able to get a spade in our clay soil now though!
