The battle is on.
You may remember, this post, from last year. The aphids were completely swarming over my brand new, rose buds. I had a mission to still have a flowering rose by Christmas and this was never going to happen with these little beasties partying on down in amongst the new flowers.
However, I did find a very successful remedy:
2 x spoons of cooking oil
1 x dash of washing up liquid
1 x sprayer bottle filled up the rest of the way with water
Spraying once a week seemed to do the trick – any more and the roses started to get a bit bogged down.
So, green nasties… I’m ready for you this year.
Bring. It. On.
I seem to have come over all ‘Rocky Balboa’ and probably better sit in the garden, have a cup of tea and calm down.
Actually. It may take more drastic action. Toast and marmite may be needed too!
