The Christmas Rose Challenge

I have been set a challenge…

…to still have a flowering rose by Christmas.

My cunning plan is simple.

1. Dead head a-plenty.

2. Cut back stems that have finished flowering to a healthy, outward facing bud (these just emerge from where the leaves meet the stem).

3. Keep an eye on those pesky aphids and quickly deal with any outbreaks.

All I have left to say is.

Bring it on!

  1. My parents had roses in the garden last xmas, we all commented on them. It is not looking so good this year tthough!!!. How this was possible I do not know as us Probyn’s do not have a green finger between us….a fluke I believe! x
