…to still have a flowering rose by Christmas.
My cunning plan is simple.
1. Dead head a-plenty.
2. Cut back stems that have finished flowering to a healthy, outward facing bud (these just emerge from where the leaves meet the stem).
3. Keep an eye on those pesky aphids and quickly deal with any outbreaks.
All I have left to say is.
Bring it on!

Muchas gracias!
WHen I saw the heading I wondered what on earth you could do to attempt this – will be following your advice!
Apparently it can be done!! Please post pictures if you manage it!
Will do – fingers crossed!

Thank you – I’ll let you know how I get on! x
My parents had roses in the garden last xmas, we all commented on them. It is not looking so good this year tthough!!!. How this was possible I do not know as us Probyn’s do not have a green finger between us….a fluke I believe! x
I love a garden-based fluke! The flowers are still there, although a bit droopy after the recent rain. They only have to hang on in there for a few…more…weeks! x
