One of the dahlia plants that I planted out into the raised beds has just started to flower. I know it seems a bit early, but I couldn’t resist bringing one inside to go with the other bits and pieces that I had found in the garden. They are all sitting in tiny little lustre vases from Cox&Cox and work well to create a vintage feel on a sideboard, table or windowsill.
These vases are especially good for the early and late part of the flowering season, where there isn’t the abundance of flowers that you get at the moment. In Spring, I was using lily-of-the-valley stems, helebores and chive flowers, whereas this Autumn I plan to make good use of seed heads from the poppy, clematis and roses.
