They’ve Hatched!

I take back everything I said about being non-committed to my new friends for the week. As far as I knew, this morning we just had 4 little static chrysalises dangling away in their habitat.  About 10 minutes ago, a beautiful, spotty butterfly suddenly emerged and has been stretching her/his wings enjoying the new found freedom.  I am hooked!  They have been moved from their out-of-the-way place to the middle of the kitchen table!

I have been instructed to feed them with a special solution for 2 days before releasing them into the wild.  I think I’ll actually be quite sad to see them go, but happy that they will be making their own choices about where they want to live…
