Growing Basil from Seed

I didn’t actually grow this one from seed, as I was given it as a present when it was only a tiny seedling.  Basil seems to love lots of sunlight (as it is a mediterranean plant but apparently originated from India).  I keep them well watered but not water-logged and occasionally put in some sort of plant fertiliser to keep them happy.  I have just pinched out the tops (once they’ve grown to six inches) to try and avoid them becoming too tall and to encourage bushing out from the lower sections.  I plan to pot them into interesting ceramic pots, yet to be found, and put them outside in the warmest months before bringing them in.
